Leisure is the period when we are free from any serious work or business. The young and the old have both common and uncommon leisure pursuits. Leisure is spent in different ways in different countries such as the Chinese pass their leisure watching TV, the Japanese pass their leisure joining English clubs. The Canadians love to spend their leisure going outside, hunting, watching birds etc.

The Germans pass her leisure travelling from one place to another. In Bangladesh usually the young people are fond of sports, playing and ‘watching games like football, cricket, ha-do-do. Whereas the old only love to watch games. The old people like to chat or gossip. They also spend time in telling stories to the children and young boys and girls.

Watching television is common leisure pursuit for both the young and the old. Listening to music is also a common pursuit for both the you and the old. Young people in Bangladesh prefer attending the concert of band music. Whereas old people like to attend the function of jari gan, yatra, etc. Gardening is a favourite leisure pursuit of the old people. Playing games on computer, chatting on internet and watching TV are the common leisure pursuit of the both educated and uneducated young people in Bangladesh. However, gossiping is the most favourite leisure pursuit of all the Bangladeshis.

Leisure / pastime paragraph : Leisure is the period when we remain free from any serious work or business. Both the young and the old have the leisure pursuits . In my country the young generation are fond of sports, watching television, travelling, rowing boats, swimming, playing and enjoying various sports and games like football, cricket and ha-do-do. On the other hand, the old persons like to chat and gossip. They like to watch various games. They also spend their time in telling stories to the children.

At present the young generation like to play video games. When they get leisure time they become busy with computer. Listening to music is also an important leisure pursuit for both the young and the old. Nowadays the city people prefer to attend the concert of band music and pop music. But the old villagers prefer to enjoy the folk music like jatragan, jarigan and sharigan in the late winter.

Gardening is also a favourite leisure pursuit for some people. Watching television, playing games on computer, chatting on internet are the common leisure pursuits of the educated young people in our country . The Chinese spend their pastimes visiting parks and enjoying acrobatic performances. Baseball, golf and martial arts such as Judo and Karate are specially popular pastimes with men in Japan.

In Canada skiing, fishing, boating, swimming, hunting, hiking, camping and bird watching are popular pastimes. Above all, one thing is common to all the people and it is gossiping. i think travelling is very helpful for all because it widens our knowledge to some extent.
