Child Labour Paragraph: When a child is to work to earn his own livelihood, it is called child labour. Those who are under 18 are child labourers. These young working children are being deprived of their fundamental rights. They don’t get proper food and clothes, they do not live in a healthy environment, they don’t possess good health and they do not receive education.

They are supposed to be at school for learning like other children but they work in garments factories, and as tempo and bus helpers. They are also seen collecting garbage, too. They live an inhuman life. The government and the people concerned should act to protect their Human rights and stop child labour.

The government should rehabilitate the slum-dwellers and create working opportunities for them to develop their living standard. The government should sanction more money for ‘Food for Education Programme’. The concerned people can come forward to help the working children. More child homes should be established for deserted children. After doing all these, we can expect the underprivileged children to enjoy their fundamental rights and a child labour free country.

Child labour has become a common thing or matter in Bangladesh. I have noticed that many young children are working for a living around us. I feel for them and the sight of these working children pains me. The thought of my failure to do anything for them saddens me. I think these young working children are being deprived of their fundamental rights.

They have to grind bricks and stones. They work as street hawkers. Sometimes they become pickpockets . They also work as bus conductors or labourers in small factories and polish boots. They sell nuts and chanachur. Sometimes they work in houses as male/female servants. In most cases, the masters and house wives are very harsh to them. They do not regard them human being. They suffer from malnutrition as they lack in proper food. It is the failure of the government and the society. I think the government and the people concerned should act to protect their rights and stop their labour.

The government should rehabilitate the floating people by creating working opportunities for them to develop their living standard. Many people are rich in the society and they can help those poor people in various ways. The government should sanction more money for ‘Food for Education Programme. the concerned people can come forward to help the working children. More child homes should be established for deserted children. After doing all these, we can expect children enjoying their fundamental rights and a child labour free Bangladesh.
